Pyrus was created by husband and wife design team Lorraine and Ashwin Johnson in 2005.
Based in Hoxton, London, the duo are continually evolving their design abilities to keep the collections both modern and fresh. Looking for influential finds in bazaars and thrift markets in their travels to India, France and at home in the UK.
Pyrus is best known for its unique take on vintage. The combination of modern shapes with vintage techniques, embroidery and embellishment is what gives the brand its
distinct look.
Simplicity and style is key to the duo’s design philosophy with an old-world look, inspired by their endless gathering and sourcing of Antique laces, dresses, vintage pieces, fabrics and books.
In 2008, the pair launched PY: a diffusion line of butter-soft Tees and Tops. The collection consists of 20 new styles each season offered in 10 colours. PY: styles are effortless and relaxed in soft cotton and blended jerseys.
